Are there any cars that are sold ONLY in South Korea that have a following outside South Korea? I realize their manufacturers are rather younger than Japan’s, but Hyundai and Kia in particular have come a long way.
Are there any other manufacturers from South Korea maybe that the West doesn’t even have? I know there’s Daewoo, but AFAIK they don’t really make anything Jalop-worthy. (I think they were once in the US but then had to leave due to poor sales, no?)

There are some elements of ‘KDM’ style in Korea on Kias and Hyundais, but it's nothing like JDM is here

I can’t say it’s a scene per se, and it’s not specific to Korea, but the Hyundai Pony is a rare and collectible car. I read an article recently (can’t find it again) about some journalist who test drove a mint example in Canada, and the car was sold shortly after to a gentleman in Korea who couldn’t find a nicer one.

Wow, interesting, thanks. I don’t find it to be much of a looker, but I guess it’s historically significant because it was South Korea’s first mass-produced car.

Wow, I’ve actually never heard of this car until now. Rather good-looking.
Are there any reviews/test drives of it online?

Well it was styled by Italdesign Giugiaro, so you’ll have to take that up with ole Giorgetto himself.

Hardly, but here’s a music video with one. Or two.

Actually I changed my mind, it’s quite nice. The picture wasn’t loading for me at first, and I was looking at the wrong year on Wiki.

Yeah, the one in the article was a second gen (the one that looks like a stretched Omni) but I assume there are still one or two decent first generation Ponies (Ponys?) left in the world.
Here is the article, and indeed, it’s a second gen:
